Version 2.1
This CD includes demos from several of our newest software
titles.
###############################################################
Here is your chance to play the demos of many of our games:
* Outlaws
* X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter
* Jedi Knight
* Curse of Monkey Island
* Yoda Stories
This readme contains directions for installing, launching,
and uninstalling each of the demos on this CD.
Installing The LucasArts Demos
--------------------------------------
NOTE: The LucasArts Demos on this CD require Windows 95.
Demos Startup
---------------------
The LucasArts Launcher allows you to install the demo programs
individually (see below for details on each demo) and to view
general Readme and troubleshooting information. Please see the
individual demos for Readme and Troubleshooting information for
each game.
Launcher Screen
---------------
From the Launcher screen, you can access the individual demos,
view Readme information or exit to Windows. The Launcher has
the following buttons available:
* Outlaws Demo
* X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter Demo
* Jedi Knight Demo
* Curse of Monkey Island Demo
* Yoda Stories Demo
* View Readme
* Exit to Windows
Installing and Running Individual Demos
---------------------------------------
Play any of the demos by following the directions below.
Installing the Outlaws Demo
---------------------------
1. Click the Outlaws Demo button on the Super Sampler Launcher
menu.
2. This takes you to the Installer screen:
* Install Outlaws Demo
* View Troubleshooting Guide
* Exit to Windows
3. Click the Install Outlaws Demo button. Follow the onscreen
directions to install the demo.
4. During installation, you will be prompted to choose to
install the single-player version or both single-and multi-
player versions.
5. You will be prompted to install DirectX if it is not already
installed on your system.
6. Once the installation is complete, the Outlaws Demo Launcher
appears.
Outlaws Demo Launcher
---------------------
* Play Outlaws Demo-Click to play.
* View Demo Readme-Click to view technical information.
* Demo Troubleshooting-Click this button to get a sub-menu which
includes:
* Troubleshooting Guide-Click to read the troubleshooting
document.
* Change Sound Driver-Adjust the sound configuration.
* Change Video Driver-Adjust video configuration.
* Reinstall DirectX-Gives you another chance to install DirectX.
* Done-Closes the dialog box.
* Select Video Mode for Demo Change video resolution or choose to
use a 3Dfx driver if you have it.
* Uninstall Outlaws Demo Removes the program for your system.
* Exit to Windows Returns you to the Windows desktop.
Outlaws Demo Main Menu
----------------------
* Main Game Selecting this option will begin the single player
adventure.
* Multiplayer Game Selecting this option will bring you to the
Multiplayer Setup menu. This option is not available if you
did not install both single and multiplayer games at the
Outlaws Demo installation.
* Historical Missions This option is not available in the demo.
Installing the X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter Demo
------------------------------------------
1. Click the Play X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter button in the Super
Sampler Launcher.
2. Follow the onscreen directions to install the demo.
3. During installation, you will be prompted to calibrate your
joystick.
4. You will also be prompted to install DirectX if it is not
already installed on your system.
5. When installation is complete, the X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter
Demo Launcher will appear.
NOTE: You must have a joystick installed for the game to work
properly.
X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter Demo Launcher
------------------------------------
* Play the X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter Demo-Select this to play
the game.
* Calibrate Joystick Select this to calibrate your joystick.
* Uninstall X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter Demo Click here to remove
the demo from your hard drive.
* View Readme View technical information.
* Exit to Windows Returns you to your desktop.
Installing the Jedi Knight Demo
-------------------------------
1. Click the Jedi Knight Demo button on the Super Sampler
Launcher menu.
2. This takes you to the Installer screen:
* Install Jedi Knight Demo
* View Demo Readme
* View Demo Troubleshooting Guide
* Analyze your Computer
* Exit to Windows
3. Click the Install Jedi Knight Demo button. Follow the onscreen
directions to install the demo.
4. You will also be prompted to install DirectX if it is not al-
ready installed on your system.
5. Once the installation is complete, the Jedi Knight Demo Launcher
will appear.
Installing The Curse Of Monkey Island Demo
------------------------------------------
There is no installation for The Curse of Monkey Island Demo.
When you click on Curse of Monkey Island Demo, it will take
you to The Curse of Monkey Island Launcher menu.
The Curse of Monkey Island Launcher
-----------------------------------
* Play the Curse of Monkey Island Demo
* View Readme
* View Troubleshooting Guide.
* Exit to Windows.
Installing the Yoda Stories Demo
--------------------------------
There is no installation for the Yoda Stories Demo.
1. Click the Yoda Stories Demo button in the Super Sampler
Launcher menu to open the demo version of Yoda Stories.
2. The game opens and you can start playing immediately.
3. Make sure to click the black dot in the dialogue balloons
to close the balloon to start playing the game.
NOTE: Whenever you need assistance with gameplay, just go to
the Help menu on the menu bar. R2D2 can help you out
along the way also.
Uninstalling the Demos from your Computer
-----------------------------------------
Unless otherwise noted:
1. Click the Uninstall button in the games' Launcher menu to
remove the demo from your hard drive.
OR
1. Select Settings from the Start menu
2. Click on Control Panel.
3. Double-click on Add/Remove Programs.
4. Highlight the name of the program that you want to uninstall.
5. Click the Add/Remove button, then click OK to confirm the
file deletion.
6. This will run the UnInstallShield. Click the OK button when
prompted.
Uninstalling The Curse of Monkey Island and Yoda Stories Demos
--------------------------------------------------------------
These demos play off the CD-ROM, so they do not need to be
removed from your hard drive.

THE SOFTWARE. BY USING THE SOFTWARE, YOU ARE AGREEING TO BE
BOUND BY THE TERMS OF THIS LICENSE. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO
THE TERMS OF THIS LICENSE, DO NOT INSTALL OR USE THE SOFTWARE,
DELETE THE SOFTWARE AND ALL RELATED FILES FROM YOUR COMPUTER,
AND PROMPTLY RETURN THIS PACKAGE AND ITS CONTENTS TO THE PLACE
OF PURCHASE FOR REFUND OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID.

included in this computer program (the "Software") are the

The Software is licensed (not sold) to you, and LEC owns
all copyright, trade secret, patent and other proprietary
rights in the Software. You may use the Software on a
single computer. You may not: (1) copy (other than once
for back-up purposes), distribute, rent, lease or sublicense
all or any portion of the Software; (2) modify or prepare
derivative works of the Software; (3) transmit the Software
over a network, by telephone, or electronically using any
means, except in the course of your network multi-player
play of the Software; or (4) reverse engineer, decompile or

license is automatically terminated if you transfer the

LEC warrants to the original consumer purchaser that the
media furnished in this product will be free from defects in
materials and workmanship under normal use for a period
of ninety (90) days from the date of purchase (as evidenced
by your receipt). If the media supplied as part of this
product proves to be defective, and provided that the
consumer purchaser returns the media to LEC in
accordance with the instructions in this paragraph, LEC
will replace the defective media: (a) free of charge to the
consumer purchaser, if the media proves to be defective
within the ninety (90) day period following the date of
purchase, and (b) if the media proves to be defective after
the expiration of the ninety (90) day warranty period, LEC
will replace the defective media for a fee of $5.00 per
Compact Disc. To obtain a replacement CD, please return
the CD only, postage prepaid, to LEC, at the address below,
accompanied by proof of date of purchase, a description of
the defect, and your name and return address. To replace
defective media after expiration of the warranty period,
send the CD only, postage prepaid, to LEC at the address
below, enclosing proof of purchase, a description of the
defect, your name and return address, and a check for $5.00
per Compact Disc. LEC will mail a replacement to you.
You expressly acknowledge and agree that use of the
Software is at your sole risk. Except for the limited ninety
(90) day warranty on the media set forth above, the
Software and any related documentation or materials are
provided "AS IS" and without warranty of any kind. LEC
EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS AND IMPLIED,
INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF
MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND
NONINFRINGEMENT. LEC DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE FUNCTIONS
CONTAINED IN THE SOFTWARE WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS, OR
THAT THE OPERATION OF THE SOFTWARE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR
